Sauber C9: The Return of Silver Arrow
The Sauber Mercedes C9 was a Le Mans prototype race car introduced in 1987. The Mercedes Benz 5.0 liter turbocharged V8 engine led C9 to score brilliant 1st, 2nd and 5th place finishes at 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans.
1987 "Michelin" German Supercup
The Michelin-sponsored Sauber race car took its first victory in German Supercup. This Michelin C9 replica was my DIY finishing. It was customized with a Penny Racer C9.
1989 The Return of Silver Arrow
With Mercedes-Benz taking full sponsorship of the Sauber C9s and painting them silver, it became the new Silver Arrow. This is the Choro-Q C9 (HG24-2) introduced in 1990 and it has been discounted some years ago.
